Really quick, I want to type this up before I forget, but I only have a second.
Naomi climbs in bed with us every morning when she wakes up. It is here, in the groggy morning hours, that many of her most clever, unusual, or amusing statements are uttered. I attribute it to the fact that she's usually doing most- or all - of the talking (since Eddie and I are usually trying to stay asleep), and the silence in the room allows her mind to really work.
This morning, she looked into my eyes and said "Your pupils! They have RED in them! Your pupils have red in them. And I see some sparklies, some stars... and I see MYSELF!" Then she proceeded to compose and perform an elaborate song on the subject.
Maybe we never truly know what lies within our eyes until someone very small and clever has gazed into them and divulged their contents...
