A very appropriate Shel Silverstein poem comes to mind, about a hot day.. it's not as hot as all that, but it's really been rather toasty. And the crummy thing is, even if I had time to swim, the weather's been all stormy. We've only just recovered the computer from a power outage.
Naomi (whether due to the heat, the fact that she awoke much too early, then took an extra long nap, or just being three) has been a GRUMP today. So I've nothing to report along the lines of her delightfulness, unfortunately. Not that she hasn't been delightful, but nothing stands out. I have been thinking ahead to her birthday, which is next month, and the fact that she has SOOOOO many toys, so I am having skirts made for her in these three charming fabrics:
I considered making them myself, but that was before I remembered what an AWFUL seamstress I am, and how HOPELESS I am at attempting to use a sewing machine... so I am having someone very talented make them for me! I am especially excited about the cat fabric, since it is so hard to find anything with cats on it that isn't tacky, horrid, or downright nerdy. And since Naomi is more fond of cats than any other animal, I couldn't resist this delightfully retro Alexander Henry fabric. I also think she'll enjoy the other two as well.
