Here we go....

I've been thinking - this kid of mine is too funny, and so often the hilarious things she says slip through the cracks of my mind and are gone. Since I have such limited time to scrapbook these days, I am going to try and post daily on the funny things she says, and also include pics when possible. So if you're reading this and are not me - I hope her amazingness adds some joy to your day, as it always does for those who know her.
.
She is very interested in God, Jesus, Heaven, and all other related topics. She talks about them daily, often asking questions and coming to her own conclusions. Today, she was lovingly stroking my eyelashes, telling me how beautiful they were (she's extremely affectionate), when she also told me I had pretty eyebrows. I must have looked either surprised or amused, because she said, "Everyone has eyebrows. Except God." And she was clearly pleased with herself for figuring this out. I laughed and told her I didn't know whether God had eyebrows or not, but then we both seemed to need a moment to imagine the eyebrows of God, in all their majesty, if such things do in fact exist. I guess we won't know 'till we see Him.
.
Also, before I forget, these are some names she has in mind for the new baby.
**Bambi - We were eating dinner about a month ago, discussing baby names, when she said, "I have an idea! I think we should name the baby after that cute little deer on Bambi - Bambi!" We later found out from her that she favored this name for a boy (after all, that cute little deer on Bambi IS a boy deer) but thought it would be cute for a girl as well. I can only imagine introducing my son, Bambi...
**Van Morrison - I had been singing "Brown Eyed Girl" one morning after commenting to her that her eyes were looking brown these days, instead of that dark, unclassifiable gray color she'd had since birth. She really liked the song, so when we got into the car later that day I asked Eddie to play the real song on his iPod. She started murmuring things like, "I really like this song," and "I really like his voice." I turned around and told her the singer's name was Van Morrison. "I really like that name," she said. "If our baby is a boy, I think we should name him Van Morrison." Needless to say, this memory will probably delight me for life.
**She has also suggested such names as Eyelash (for a girl) and Eyebrow (for a boy), Daffodil, Daisy, and Flower for a girl, and many other interesting names. She likes the name Alex for a boy, but since I already have a cousin named Alex I told her it unfortunately wasn't going to be an option. When Eddie and I suggested Simon to her, she seemed to think it was all right. Hopefully we'll be able to agree when little "Eyebrow" (or whatever we decide to name him or her) arrives.
